Enrichment for Whole-Dog Wellness Experience
New Location Opening Spring 2026
Dogs aren’t meant to simply “burn energy.” They’re wired to explore, think, sniff, socialize, and solve problems—and when those natural instincts are met, you get a happier, healthier, more balanced pup.
At
The Bark Park in Rocklin, our enrichment philosophy goes beyond standard exercise. We prioritize purposeful engagement that prevents boredom, stress, and anxiety while building confidence and resilience.
The Five Pillars of
Canine Enrichment
Our enrichment program is designed by a Dog Guru–certified team and built entirely around what dogs truly need to thrive. We use a structured, research-backed approach rooted in five pillars of enrichment, giving every dog the chance to engage fully with the world in a safe, stimulating, and totally tail-wag-worthy way:
Nutritional:
Enrichment satisfies a dog’s innate drives to sniff, scavenge, forage, and search for food in engaging, mentally stimulating ways.
Intellectual:
Puzzle-solving, skill-building games, and individualized challenges strengthen focus, learning, and emotional balance.
Sensory:
Safe and stimulating activities involve sight, scent, sound, and touch to keep dogs curious, calm, and enriched.
Social:
Supervised play and guided interactions nurture healthy relationships with other dogs and humans.
Physical:
Structured exercise, agility, and movement-based fun build strength, coordination, and confidence.
Why Enrichment Matters
When enrichment is part of a dog’s daily routine, we see calmer behavior, more confidence, deeper social connections, and a healthier emotional baseline. When enrichment is missing, we see the opposite: excessive barking, separation anxiety, destructive chewing, depression, and general restlessness.
Our goal? Give your dog what they're begging for—before those unmet needs turn into stress or problem behaviors.
Modern studies show that canine enrichment reduces stress, builds confidence, encourages natural behaviors, and improves both mental and physical health. It helps dogs self-regulate, settle more easily, and find healthy outlets for instinctual drives.
In other words: enriched dogs are happier, more stable, and easier to live with—both at home and in group settings.

A Personalized Enrichment Experience
Our enrichment program gives dogs a safe, supervised, and structured way to engage in behaviors that foster their instincts:
- Sniffing
- Scavenging
- Dissecting
- Chasing
- Digging
- Bonding
Think scent work, shreddable toys, controlled chase games, dig zones, confidence courses, food puzzles, and lots of positive social connection. When we satisfy these instincts, we’re not just tiring dogs out—we’re fulfilling them.
If you want more than “just daycare,” you’re in the right place. Our team designs each session to match a dog’s personality, comfort level, and instinctual needs. Whether your pup is a thinker, a sniffer, a social butterfly, or a curious explorer, we create a balanced experience that keeps them fulfilled—not overwhelmed.
The Explorers Lounge
$18/Session
The Explorers Lounge is a dedicated space where your pup can explore a variety of enrichment experiences. Each session includes 10–15min of one-on one time in the Explorers Lounge with one of our guides.
Our team will guide guests to explore textures, sounds, smells and activities. Sessions may include searching, climbing, digging, chimes, bells, and a rotating variety of other engaging canine activities. Studies show that 10 min of this type of enrichment is equal to 30-45min of physical activity for the brain.
This service is available as an add-on for any boarding, daycare, or spa service.
- $18/session
- Up to 3 sessions/day
